Adam Black and the Platonic Orgy!

Okay, so I already told you two about most of this, but I figured I'd write it down for posterity. So Adam Black and the Platonic Orgy had its debut performance at Awesomefest this past Saturday and permanently etched itself into the collective consciousness of the Wesleyan student body. The songs played were as follows:

1. Aeroplane Over the Sea -- Neutral Milk Hotel
2. Untitled song -- Adam Black and the Platonic Orgy
3. Complicated -- Avril Lavigne

Of the three, Complicated was definitely the best-received, but the reactions to the other two were by no means lukewarm. The majority of my hallmates came to see us perform. It was a good crowd. The only downside is all of the screaming girls asking for my autograph and fainting whenever I look in their direction. Such is the burden of fame, I suppose.

Also, I've so far written two-and-a-half songs: the one we played at the concert, a birthday song for my friend Julie (tentatively titled "Julie the Arcane"; Jake (the guitarist) and I performed it for her last night (last night being her birthday)), and I've written the chorus for another song called "Let's Hold Hands" that may turn out to be the feel-good hit of the summer.

Also, Annie, that picture you posted on the blog is now my facebook picture, and I'm getting a large volume of messages on my wall expressing emotion ranging from incredulity to awe. Actually, I guess that's not a very big range. Whatever.

In summary: band good.

he wrote one about julie...that's kinda close. also, i'm totally doing hell week for the play right now. my main responsibility is washing dishes. there's a pretty cool sink-connected-to-hole-in-the-wall-of-the-set thing going on. the sink being the stage sink. not where i was dishes. that's in the shop. this got really complicated really fast. cole slaw is gross!

also. the letters i have to type in to post this time are "aaswm," which is kind of like awesome.
